North Mason Regional Fire Authority units were dispatched to a person in distress in the lake at about 6:30 p.m., said Capt. Jordan Reese.
Boaters pulled him onto their boat and began CPR. They continued until reaching shore, where EMTs took over. They raced him to an ambulance but couldn’t revive him, Reese said.
An autopsy was performed Monday by the Kitsap County Coroner’s Office.
Anderson, 60, taught school for 37 years, including the past 19 at Bainbridge. The Poulsbo resident also coached sports, most recently tennis.
